Vice President of Operations 

Responsible for the project management, engineering, design (3D CADD) and procurement of all company projects.  In addition, there is significant interface with marketing, the individual in this position will share the responsibility to make presentations to clients and potential clients, with marketing.

The position requires planning skills to allow continued growth of the organization.  These include strategic alliances with contractors and vendors, interfacing with organization's sister companies to leverage our combined capabilities to be greater then the sum of the individual organizations and developing process uses for the technical innovations of our research department.  It also requires the ability to establish and monitor long term performance goals, lead the day to day activities of the staff, prepare performance and salary reviews and develop and manage department capital and expense budgets.  

Additionally it requires an ability to understand the details of successful project management, including estimating, cost control and scheduling while overseeing the performance of Project Managers in the on time and under budget delivery of each project and study.  At the same time the position requires monitoring the technical product through careful supervision of the engineering and design staff.  It also requires working closely with marketing so that appropriate technical and project management support can be provided to the development of new clients.  This will also include input to contracts and guarantee terms and conditions.  Current staff is approximately 25 project managers, engineers and designers.

The ideal candidate would have an engineering degree and be registered as a Professional Engineer. An MBA would be a major plus. Twenty years of increasing responsibility in the engineering, construction or project manager fields is expected with a strong preference for experience in the ethanol or process chemical engineering industries.  The engineering degree is an absolute requirement.  The rest could be overcome with significant pluses in other areas.
