2/8/2012 - Agribusiness companies Cargill and CHS Inc. announced February 1 that they are expanding the scope of their TEMCO LLC, grain export terminal joint venture to include other Pacific Northwest export assets owned by the companies.

2/8/2012 - Algae producer Aquaviridis has signed a commercial agreement with OriginOil to help develop the multi-phase algae production rollout at its Mexicali, Mexico, site, a potential model for algae sites throughout the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) region, with a focus on desert areas of the U.S. Southwest and Mexico.

2/8/2012 - Enviva LP, a leading manufacturer of processed biomass fuel in the U.S. and Europe, and E.ON, among the world’s largest investor-owned utilities, announced February 6 a multi-year 240,000 metric-ton-per-year wood pellet supply agreement.

2/8/2012 - A new white paper published by Wilks Enterprise titled, The Effect of Biodiesel Feedstocks on Infrared Blend Measurements, addresses a common concern among biodiesel blenders and distributors on whether or not biodiesel made from different feedstocks such as soy, waste vegetable oil or palm oil will affect the blend measurement.

2/8/2012 - Archer Daniels Midland Co. January 31 reported financial results for the quarter ended December 31. The company reported net earnings of US$80 million, or 12¢ per share, both down 89% from the same period one year earlier.

2/8/2012 - Celanese Corp., a global technology and specialty materials company, January 31 reported fourth-quarter (4Q) 2011 net sales of US$1,614 million, a 7% increase from the prior year period, primarily due to higher pricing across all operating segments.

2/8/2012 - Codexis, Inc. announced January 24 that its chief financial officer (CFO) Robert Lawson, has resigned in order to accept a position at a private software company. The company’s board of directors will conduct an immediate search for a new CFO.

2/8/2012 - Canada’s Enerkem Inc., a waste-to-biofuels and chemicals firm, announced February 1 that Carl Rush, senior vice president of Organic Growth for Waste Management, Inc., joined its board of directors. On February 3, Enerkem announced that it filed a registration statement on Form F-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a preliminary prospectus with securities regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada, relating to a proposed initial public offering of its common shares in the United States and in Canada.
