Drought Continues to Heat Up RFS, Corn-Ethanol Waiver Debate
The federal Renewable Fuels Standard – or RFS2 – has substantially expanded the use of biofuels in the U.S. When it was originally created under the Energy Policy Act in 2005 and, subsequently expanded under the Energy Independence and Security Act in 2007, it was designed to deliver a diversified portfolio of biofuels into the nation’s energy infrastructure over the next decade.
