Monsanto Interview Opportunities
at the 2007 Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo

Monsanto Company, a leader in the agricultural industry in supporting ethanol, will be among exhibitors participating in the 2007 Fuel Ethanol Workshop & Expo being held June 26-29 at the St. Louis America’s Center.

The event is designed to meet the needs and interests of a growing ethanol industry by focusing on issues and topics that improve production and plant operations. The program includes many technical sessions, an Expo of leading equipment and service providers and networking opportunities for industry participants.

At the show, Monsanto will share its commitment to ethanol (see below), discuss current research and seed breeding efforts involving new ethanol corn products, and actually produce ethanol on site. The Monsanto spokespersons listed below are available for media interviews at Booth 603 during the show. Or, for media not planning to attend, phone interviews can be arranged prior to or during the show.

Monsanto’s commitment to ethanol includes:

  • Offering Processor Preferred® High Fermentable Corn (HFC) hybrids, which offer high yield potential and can deliver 2 percent to 4 percent more ethanol per bushel than commodity corn.

  • Providing analytical tools for the Processor Preferred network of 50 ethanol plants across the Corn Belt. These plants encourage corn growers in their areas to grow Processor Preferred hybrids and supply the grain for ethanol production.
  • Providing financial support for the installation of E85 pumps in rural communities.

  • Providing incentives for farmers who purchase General Motors E85 Flex Fuel Vehicles.
